Good day,

I'm somewhat new to the whole RPI and openplotter, I think it is fantastic. I am by no means "proficient" yet but I'm fumbling my way through. In my messing around, I've tried noobs, berryboot, etc. I've been exploring different ways of setting up primarily the sailing/charting/boat management side of things, but also an onboard media centre.

So far it's a barebones setup....Raspberry Pi3, GPS -BU353, Openplotter, vnc'd in and loaded all my charts, etc. I've been able to get my system up and running thus far but need a bit of help with VNC side of things. I can open a connection via X11vnc and access with the laptop and phone with no issues. I'd like to have X11vnc start automatically on boot though. I've tried several different methods with no success.

Any assistance would be much appreciated. Please keep in mind that I'm no pro.

Cheers

a quick google gave 2 different methods:

http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/que...nc-on-boot (the last answer here)

Have you tried any of those?

Atsakir,

Much appreciated. I did try the second method with no success. I was able to have it start on boot,  but it still required pwd info etc. Again, I'm just getting my feet wet with both the Pi and the OS. I'm sure the solution was there somewhere.

I will give the first method a crack perhaps tonight. I probably should have approached it from the perspective of a headless Pi setup in the beginning. Seems to be more info out there.

Thanks again
