I have a deceased Nexus NX2, but still have the working wired wind vane and anemometer. I did some digging around and I believe this instrument encodes the direction and speed via PWM. The frequency is related to the speed and the duty cycle is related to the direction. Nexus Wind transducer

Has anyone adapted a PWM instrument for use with OP? Should be simple enough. The instrument is 12v so a resistor divider, a diode, or maybe a optocoupler to a pin on the PI then read that, do the math and and inject a NMEA sentence into KPLEX or SignalK. I think the speed ( Nexus paddle wheel, from the same dead system ) also operates the same way, just encoding the speed into the pwm frequency.
