Man Overboard - pkernevez - 2018-05-14

Hi all,

I've just discovered the world of Raspberry Pi and all its capacities for sailing.
I've found a lot of stuff around Open Plotter (including this forum), but I do not find any thing about Man Overboard alarm.

I think about something based on bluetooth devices linked with the PI, and an alarm raised when a device is missing.

More or less like the following link, but with a PI instead of a mobile phone.

Do I miss something about this subject ?

Philippe

I had a discussion with the developer of the app Waterspeed some time ago about adding functionality around Apple Watch and iPhone being out of contact and therefore the iPhone would automatically send a message to a predetermined person with the position when contact was lost. He was going to add it to his feature list.

It would be good if the Watch or Phone could be the trigger
