How much current does your Pi use? - PaddyB - 2019-05-23

Not much!! Cool

Something just fascinating about logging data :Smile

Battery charger was turned on just after 18:00 so you can see the current dropping slowly as the battery voltage increases.

The Pi has a hifiberry amp piggy backed so you can see when it's been streaming web radio with a little node-red which controls music player daemon through bash, radio turned on again just after 8am. The hifiberry provides 5v power as well from the battery 12v, fantastic little hifi amp - really good sound for so little power. Current measured with a INA219 into an ESP32 which sends the data as signalk which sigK then writes to an Influxdb database. New influxdb V2 cloud just released as well with a free 3 day web database, might be handy for offline data logging.

Something very satisfying about the Pi measuring itself Smile

If anyone is interested in the setup I could do a little writeup, but if you like music/podcasts etc a hifiberry is well worth the money, clementine does a great job of playing back music or podcasts etc. My car radio pulled about half an amp!!
