Another possible solution for cockpit display:
ROKK Wireless - Active (SC-CW-04E) 12v / 24v Waterproof Wireless Phone Charging Mount
Modern phones are waterproof and can be charged wireless.
This is just a charging mount which holds the phone and designed for marine apps.
The phone can have opencpn installed (if Android) and connect via wifi to Openplotter installed somewhere in cockpit.
There are also other signalK and Kplex display apps for Android

Seems like not a bad solution.
