SignalK filter install Linux64 AMD - verkerkbr - 2020-02-20

The Skfilter item is very nice to show what is happening in the SignalK stream. It worked with the latest setting 027 on the RPI 4.

But to try to install the same in my Linux64 AMD Mint Tricia. It generates an error: no  SKfilterPostinstall.

Cannot find this file with the search. Perhaps it is missing.

Regards,

Bram

SignalK filter is not installed on a AMD64 or 386 Linux system with the latest OpenPlotter updates. But if you use synaptic and search for openplotter you will find the application. This very nice application can be installed and works on my AMD65 Mint Tricia and 386 16 bits Mint Linux and of course on my Pi4.

Not yet tried with NMEA2000 input.

Excellent application to show the SignalK stream.

Hi TK,

here goes a screen shot of the application. This time only for my NMEA183 GPS mouse. Next try will be the output of my NMEA2000 GPS antenne. I'am very interested what is the output from NMEA2K in SignalK

Boat is in the winter storage therefore I can only try this at my home.

It works in my RPI, Linux 64AMD and on my 386 Linux Mint.

Bram

Now I also tried it with my NMEA2000 GPS and the Canable can card.

Here is the screendump of the SignalK. Interessing to see what SignalK receives the PGN's.

RE: SignalK filter install Linux64 AMD - Sailoog - 2020-02-21

tkurki, This is a new openplotter app to filter and process data before it get to the SK server. It also contains a SK data inspector to see quickly what is happening in the server.

Basically this filter/process feature is using SK node-red-embedded in the background and managing flows but this could be a good feature for a SK node server plugin.

Bram, I can not reproduce your issue in Ubuntu. Not tested in Mint. what happens if you try to re-install from settings app?

RE: SignalK filter install Linux64 AMD - verkerkbr - 2020-02-21

Hi SLOog,

it did not install because the file SKfilterPostinstall was missing, that was the error message. That install was at first made from the setup menu.

Then I looked at the openplotter application (synaptic search) and it installed without problemes on my AMD64 system. Did the same on my test 386 system.

I cannot repeat these test because it is working.

It is indeed a very nice feature. Not really new, because it was allready availble in the early OpenPlotter versions.

Thanks for all your effort to make OpenPlotter the standard for navigation.

Regards,

Bram

OK, maybe a corrupted package download, who knows, let's wait for anyone else experimenting this issue.

Yes, the SK inspector is a port from OP1 but I think we never published the filter feature, maybe some of you installed the latest OP1 beta versions before the rebuilt into OP2 and it was already there.

RE: SignalK filter install Linux64 AMD - verkerkbr - 2020-02-21

Hi Sailoog,

just tried to remove Sk filter from the setting menu. But that does not work.

Removing the SK filter via Synaptic that worked. Then tried to install the SK filter from the settings menu. Still the same message.

Cannot run program SKfilterPostInstall: No such file or directory

There must be some problem with the wareabouts of the filter file.

Bram
