Remote located imu - christin - 2023-07-03

I have my Pypilot installed in my under my console table in cockpit. It is a built in console with wires and cables. Pypilot works ok most of the time except if I set something like a phone on the tabletop to close to the Pypilot head. I like the location since it is protected from water but I can lift the table top up to access the pi. I would like to know what would be needed to move the imu to a remote location away from wire and metal. I would be locating it about 6 feet away. I have a Pypilot from Sean.

According to this post 6 feet might be working for the I2C bus:
https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/106265/maximum-i2c-bus-length

In Andreas' guide he uses a I2C extender chip:

With that, you would be able to extend the cable further.
