Heading not passed to NMEA correctly - Littlechay - 2017-05-12 Playing with version 0.11.4a here. BME280 sensor working perfectly - thanks This may be operator error as I have never managed to make it work before but I can't seem to get the magnetic heading passed to any NMEA sentence (HDM of HDG). I can see the heading correctly in Signal K diagnostic but in NMEA all I get is a heading of between 4 and 6 that varies very little. I'm using the NMEA sentence builder. Is this some angle conversion in radians or something? Chris RE: Heading not passed to NMEA correctly - Sailoog - 2017-05-12 NMEA builder needs revision but it seems that your problem is about units. Signal k uses radian for heading you can convert to degree in NMEA builder but I don't know if this is working now. I tried to generate NMEA HDM by converting radians into degrees with OP v0.11.4 and it works fine. Strangely though when I look at Signal K diagnostics it shows the heading degrees... No does anybody have a recipe for generating a NMEA HDG message ... where does variation and deviation come from and are they also radians? |
