No luck: xgps won't run (as other python scripts). However compiled apps like gpsmon run fine So I quit... You might be able to connect to one of the output ports in the NMEA tab, maybe the signalk port? RE: Setting up xgps... - Pytheas - 2017-12-28 (2017-12-28, 07:14 PM)PaddyB Wrote: what's skyview? (see pic) That's the quickest way I know to make sure that the GPS chain from (e.g.) the mouse to the input (device name and type) to Opencpn is OK. How to use xgps in gpsd ? Start it with Code: sudo gpsd /dev/ttyOP_GP -G -n -F /var/run/gpsd.sock And don't forget to Code: sudo killall gpsd RE: Setting up xgps... - PaddyB - 2017-12-28 (2017-12-28, 08:04 PM)Pytheas Wrote: Skyview is just a visual plot of the GPS sats over your head. Ah, OK, not come across that before, looks interesting. You can get some basic GPS satellite status info in opencpn itself - https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=opencpn:opencpn_user_manual:gps_setup_and_status |
