Openplotter hardware (GPS receiver)
#6
I used one of these gps usb on board for a 4 weeks summer cruise, without any inconvenient. On my (aluminium) boat is a big plexiglas "buble" (1 sqm) under which it is located. It is connected through a powered usb hub, and it worked flawlessly without even powering the hub !
I guess in a fiberglass boat you can locate it under the deck, far from any metallic gear, avoiding any corrosion or water inlet.
