Rasberry Pi 4 Raspbain and the Moitessier Hat
#1
I'm totally new to OpenPlotter, the Rasberry Pi, Raspbain and the Moitessier Hat. I have a Pi 3b and also a Pi 4. I've also just purchased the Moitessier Hat and the CAN-USB stick.... I also have a TinyPilot.

Having all the pieces I'm uncertain as how to go forward. The Pi 4 is a much more capable computer than the Pi 3b however I believe there may be issues with OpenPlotter and no one seems to know when version 2 will be available. The Moitessier HAT does not quite fit on the Pi 4. ( the left hand corner by the pins catches on the Ethernet port of the Pi 4 board) but looks as if can be made to fit. However the Pi 4 definitely needs a cooling fan so I don't know how the HAT would then fit.

So I'm wondering, could one run OpenPlotter and the HAT on the Pi 3b but not use OpenCPN and instead send all data to the Pi 4 over the Ethernet connection or even USB? I'd then run OpenCPN on the Pi 4.

Not sure how one would go about doing this or if it is possible.... could those who know please advise me.

Thanks Paul.
