Rasberry Pi 4 Raspbain and the Moitessier Hat

i have done similar on a laptop getting data from the pi

Thanks for the links, they have been very helpful. I do note that there has not been a single mention of the need the Raspberry Pi 4 has for a fan so as to prevent over heating...

What  they do mention is the interface extenders to raise the HAT higher... Is there any reason why you could not use two or three to get the clearance necessary for a fan?

No you could use as many as you like provided the connections are stable.
