It can be done with the help of the RaspiOs version PiClone. Start the RPI with RaspiOS. Take an usb card reader and an SSD or a second cardreader.
Choose both cardreader systems and copy the SD or SDD to another SD or SSD. So you can also make copies of the Ubuntu versions with the help of the RaspiOS.
Works very good.
The Ubuntu Hirtute Hippo Beta version for the 64 bits RPI is released the 1st of April. Installed the image and also tried the OpenPlotter add-ons on this new 64 bits Ubuntu release. It gave some errors.
But most of the OpenPlotter applications did work. The Serial, the Calibration for a DSR-RTL dongle. OpenCPN with a separated installed oesenc plugin for the Oesenc usb dongle. The SignalK server is running. However, as I allready mentioned the MXTommy application gives errors when installing.
The kernel is now the 5.11 version and works very well.

The Ubuntu Hirtute Hippoo 64 bits for Raspberry Pi4 is official released. Works very well with SignalK server working and MXTommy KIP. Added the Openplotter add-ons. These also works with the RTL-DSR software. The Oesenc dongle is working. However no Wifi Access poiint.
I realy do not understand why the RaspiOS is still 32 bits. 64 bits running much better.
Also tried the latest Debian Bullseye 64 bits also for the RPI 4. Works even better then the Hirtute. However no Oesenc plugin available yet. Also added the OpenPlotter add-ons.
Also new is the latest installation setup for Linux versions of OpenCPN, called Flatpak. No longer needed is a release version. Works on all Linux versions.
Running here on the RaspiOS, Ubuntu Hirtute, Debian Bullseye and Linux Mint ARM64.
