OpenPlotter 2 roadmap
#81
type "uname -a" in a terminal to know your kernel and downloand and install the right driver from: https://www.rooco.eu/2018/06/13/firmware...ssier-hat/
Remember that RPI3 and RPI4 have different drivers and RPI4 drivers are for testing only right now. All drivers will be unified soon.

Okay thanks

I was hoping with a new driver install and a updated signal K install that I would get data to opencpn.... still nothing... is anyone able to get data from their moitessier hat to signal k and then to opencpn? I have all the connections as far as I know in signalK I have connections for UDP 51000 and 52000 and in opencpn I have tcp connections 10110 and 20220... but no data flow in the debug window and no data in the dashboard.

Hi, given that I am not a technician, I have Moitessier installed on the Pi4 and it gives me the same errors, I think you will have to wait for the update by Rocco and Sailoog. (In fact it is well explained: https://www.rooco.eu/2018/06/13/firmware...ssier-hat/).  Big Grin

Hi Sailoog, with the Glowntiger server board (openplotter-MCS) and the Moitessier hat installed, I think there is a conflict with SPI ... I hope it settles everything when you develop "OpenPlotter MY APP" and in the meantime Rocco release the updated firmware ... and so? Look down:

"Moitessier HAT is attached.
I2C is enabled.
SPI is disabled. Please enable SPI interface in Preferences -> Raspberry Pi configuration -> Interfaces.
Moitessier HAT package is installed.
Package: moitessier
Status: install ok installed
Maintainer: Thomas POMS <hwsw.development@gmail.com>
Architecture: armhf
Version: 1.20190925-1-4.19.75-1.3.1
Description: Moitessier HAT (AIS/GNSS navigation)
This package provides all the relevant tools, binaries and scripts to communicate, control and update the Moitessier HAT.

I do have the correct driver/firmware installed and when I installed it via cmd line I get no errors... yet I still do not get any data from either an IMU or Moiteisser Hat or even a usb gps reciever unless I connect to the gps reciever directly in OpenCPN, if I try to connect via signalK I get nothing... I cannot determine if it is just broke... and then I will just wait... or if my set up is broke... to me it looks fine but maybe I am missing something... I understand this is free and all and I really do appreciate all the work that goes into this but yet, if there is no clear instructions, and no communication about what is working and what is not... it kinda defeats the purpose of testing no? Like what does that mean anyhow.. hear are the drivers but they are only for testing.. does that mean they don't work? Or does that mean they work but don't go sailing with them... I suspect is is the later which leaves me stumped as to why signalk seems broken since the inception of OP2

Have you enabled SPI in Preferences -> Raspberry Pi configuration -> Interfaces?
I have not tested openplotter-MCS yet, I need to finish the openplotter basics before, but Moitessier hat (SPI0) and MCS board (SPI1) are using different SPI interfaces and it should not be a problem at all.

If you can configure opencpn to obtain data, you should also be able to configure SK to obtain data. Everything published is working unless we say otherwise. Not having docs at this time helps us know what people understand and what not in terms of usability. It is clear that making serial connections on the SK server is not clear to everyone.

Could someone please help him?

We will start writing documents soon, please be patient.
