It’s not just the Pi on 2.4Ghz it’s all the devices that are connecting to it as well.
And they are all in close proximity to the Bluetooth equipment.
The Bullet is generally hoisted 50’ up in the rigging.
Also the bullet is only in use when I want to connect to a distant shoreside accesspoint; the Rpi is on all the time.
On a router I would expect to see a drop dow box that lets you configure the radio to support: b/g/n, g, or n only.
In Openplotter there appears to be pre configured options, but there is no option to have a 5Ghz AP without briging etho.
