v2.x alpha runs smoothly on my Pi 3B.
The desktop experience is much better since Debian Buster, way better image quality. I found the OpenPlotter GUI also responding quicker, I found PyBench scores on Debian Buster, 30% improvement! https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=a...arks&num=3
Hello,
I have some issues with openplotter 2 and touch screen support. There are great chances people want to use it with touch screens and support for that currently is poor. 1. Default installation needs to include virtual on screen keyboard with an icon on the taskbar. It think matchbox-keyboard will do 2. OpenCPN by default needs to start as maximized window (not just like regular window and not full screen either). If you start full screen you can't get to keyboard icon on a touch screen. There is a way of doing it with lxde in rc.xml under ~/.config/openbox/ have a section Code: <application type="normal"> 3. I think all major openCPN plugins should be included by default just not activated 4. There should be an option to download ALL available free US ENC charts and all other free world charts with 1-2 clicks. I've found openseamap charts also somewhat useful. They show landmarks (they are nice to have too) 5. OpenCPN should be autostarted 6. OpenGL and touch screen support should be enabled by default in OpenCPN 7. Only once instance of OpenCPN should be allowed running at a time Is it possible to automate openplotter NOOB creation and have nightly builds of it? Thanks, --MG

Some context. OP2 will have 3 options:
A - out of the box img and NOOBS. B - a script to create option A which can be modified and customized by advanced user to create OP flavors.[/b][/color] C - a deb package to install on any debian system with options to install all packages. I have set the parameters for this dongle in the config file of OpenPlotter v 2.00 on my RPI3b+. And then sometimes, suddenly, I see the Ais objects appearing on the OpenCPN chart. It seems possible that this works, perhaps some small adjustments are needed. Bram

Installed the latest 2.0.9 Beta, over 2.0.7 on RPi 4, and according to the release notes it will add Pypilot. In my installation the Pypilot line went from "coming soon" to " ". (Blank) Check enclosed picture.

The issue came probably due to a former installation of OpenCPN ! So I did the following : $ sudo apt-get remove opecpn* $ sudo apt-get autoremove $ sudo apt-get update which gave the same results. I re-installed opencpn and its plugins with openplotter, then I removed line 4 of /etc/apt/sources.list and $ sudo apt-get update gave a clean result
