Delete old serial config
#1
Hi All,

Now that my new Moitessier HAT seems to work nicely (yayy) I'd like to remove the old serial connection of the USB gps

It sits in the 'Serial' tab in OpenPlotter, and when I click 'delete' and 'apply' the name goes away, but the rest remains. I'm a bit worried that it sitting there is  hint of another configuration problem, and I'd like to keep everything s simple as possible..

Is there a way to get rid of it completely?

Hi Jim, thanks for replying!

No, the old gps is no longer plugged in. The only USB now in use is my wireless keyboard dongle. Do all USB devices show up under serial?  I'll try to remove it tonight and see what happens. I'll report back !

Nope, no usb devices anymore, only the moitessier hat.
Curious as to what the first serial entry is, does it imply a misconfiguration somehow?
Oh the offensive line is now selected, but it is not red when nof selected...

This is after refreshing a few times...

see if you can find out anything with these commands

ls /dev/tty*

grep tty

you could also try to power down and remove the hat power on and see if its still there.
someone else with a hat might know ?

also check.
sudo nano /boot/config.txt if there's a line "enable_uart=0" remove or comment it out #
ctrl x y enter
reboot

Thanks for the help!

Went looking in config.txt and /dev/, when I Realized the for a previous gps i had enabled the serial port interface in rpi settings. That was the ttyS0 i couldnt get rid of. Gone, now, and I sail a little less concerned Smile
