Server Hardware for openplotter?
(2019-12-02, 01:37 PM)glowntiger Wrote: Hi,
if someone who has a board would like to test, i have add an autoshutdown to the MCS-modul.
Now you can use it directly via the App. If you enable the Checkbox the pi should shutdown if you bring the 12V enable terminal to gnd. After 40s the MCS-PCB power off the Pi and you be able to restart the Pi....

Hi, explain ... do I have to uninstall your app and clone the new one? Fixed Linux driver?  Huh Big Grin

Hi Max,
go on your Pi and type:

Code:
sudo rm -r openplotter-MCS

to delete the folder.
then load the new git data:

Code:
git clone https://github.com/Thomas-GeDaD/openplotter-MCS
then go to the folder:

Code:
cd openplotter-MCS

and install:

Code:
sudo python3 setup.py install

now you can start the openplotter APP:

PHP Code:
openplotter-MCS

there is a new service in the background (openplotter-MCS-asd) if you enable the autoshutdown in the app, the Pi shuts down after power off the +12V enable Terminal.

You must one time start the app and push save for starting the Service. Until now the app is not handle by openplotter... I hope sailoog do this the next time.

The driver issue is a timing problem of the adresses. I have change the adress of the third sc16is752 on the hardware side. I have order 20 new MCS an they should arrived the next days. At the moment you can only use 4 of the 6 NMEA0183 ports.
All who have get a prototype board gets a new MCS if availible....

here you find info´s to the issue

Hi, I followed the instructions but I must have been wrong, see photo. I book for the new card and I hope that in the meantime Sailoog and Rocco make progress. I hope everything is ready for spring and try it all on my boat. Ok, winter is still long, there's time ... good job everyone!

Hi Max,
Sorry i have missed two "". Please try again. The same procedure….

Why you have add a ventilation? It´s not needed… You did not get temperature problems…
But looks good…

Ok, I repeated everything a couple of times and now it's all right. More than the fan (which is actually not needed) I wanted to see the various LEDs to make sure that it was working properly. I had this available and can temporarily go! I also added the switch ...
