Serial NMEA out to Garmin
#1
We have the ‘standard’ USB serial adapter that Sailoog used to offer. For the last couple of years, it has taken NMEA in from our Raymarine autopilot.

Whilst set up this way, the green LED flashes away merrily.

Our Garmin chart plotter can display AIS information - so we decided to try to connect the PI to feed it.

I’ve set the serial output to 38400 baud and Both and tried the Garmin brown NMEA In wire on both the T+ and T- terminals on the serial adapter - but we don’t get either data through or the red (transmit?) LED lights.

Any ideas what i’m doing wrong?
