Hi tjmack! Replied to you in PM, but to keep the thread alive I'll even post my reply here:

I went with another solution. I went with a http://www.industrialberry.com/canberrydual-v2-1/ for my CAN. It has a I2C connector on it, so for my MPU 9250 I used a range extender to connect to I2C and get the accelerometer away from the RPI, radio, and VHF on my instrument panel. As for temp sensors I use a D1 Mini (or several) and run them wirelessly using SigKSens.
