GPS connected - NMEA Debug Window (Alias given etc in Serial settings)
#1
All,

I connected my gps, with the Alias etc
Then loaded the NMEA Debug window.
Now I see messages green and red (as in attachment)
But I see no location in OpenCPN ...
What do I do wrong?

Bart

Your opencpn settings should be different. Look at http://forum.openmarine.net/showthread.p...855&page=3 #132
opencpn only TCP localhost 10110
create udev names with openplotter-serial
in SignalK admin (http://localhost:3000/admin/#/serverConf...nections/-)
You should add Nmea 0183 inputs. in future you can select the ttyOP_xxx name at the moment you must write it down like /dev/ttyOP_xxx (xxx is your chosen name)

e-sailing thanks.
But where can I test if GPS is working properly? (I know that a lot of you are laughing now, as I should open OpenCPN ... Wink
but, I'm in my house, with little gps connection.
I used to see data in the NMEA Debug window ... so is this no longer the case now?
Thanks,
Bart

PS and by "opencpn only TCP localhost 10110" you mean "localhost 10.1.1.0"
PS 2 yes I'm a very newbie

PS 3 I see what you mean with 10110 .. it is 10.10.10.1:10110

Wink

Would this method also apply to my dAISY HAT?
1. Leave OpenCPN alone
2. Create unique name in Openplotter - serial
3. In SignalK Admin add NMEA 0183 input

I just tried but in SignalK I get an error on the AIS ( ... Cannot read property 'pipe' of undefined...)

See screenshot

That seems the classical output when you have wrong bauds defined.
