Hello,

i do need some of the new features of OpenCPN 5.8.x so I used the Flatpak install.
Unfortunately this version does not autostart.
Any pointers what could be wrong?

Thanks!

Are you in a headless system?

There is a bug in opencpn flatpak in headless mode that is difficult to fix.

Oh. I see. Yes I am in a headless system.
Does the bug have to do with the openCpn version or the the distribution?
Thanks

The problem is between the flatpak version and the graphical environment in Raspberry OS. I do not think opencpn developers will work on this baecause they blame the graphical environment.

OpenCPN from backport will work but for this source opencpn 5.8.4 will still take some time.

Ah. Damn. It seems the opencpn installer is also messed up. cannot remove the flatpak version with it as it hangs on "checking versions"
Any clues on how to clean remove the flatpak version and reinstall the backport version?

run openplotter-opencpn-installer in a terminal and copy here any error.

checking versions takes some time, have you waited enough?

I did try again and waited very long and this time it worked Smile
After reverting back to the older version however I noticed that openCPN becomes unresponsive after a while.
Any clues on that?

Edit:
I guess I'd better open a new thread on that as it hs nothing to do with flatpak.
