Rpi5 + MacArthur HAT Case w/ airflow V1
#1
Hey yall,

edited: latest version is avail here : https://forum.openmarine.net/showthread....4#pid29004

I've been working on this iteration of a case. I've 3Dprinted a few samples to make the best fit with the Rpi5.
I'm waiting for my first MacArthur HAT to be purchased and I'll snuggle the fit to it as well.

This one has a good airflow and easy access to the SD card.
I will make another sealed version with less airflow, if there is IO ports you never use and would like to see sealed, let me know, happy to know how is your setup.

Design and 3DPrinting files are here : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6439280

Let me know if you have any comments/tips for the next iteration Smile

Cheers

Looks great Kism!!

A suggestion for a possible next iteration: make it also capable of housing a bottem HAT. Since the RPI5 has a PCIe slot, which is probably going to be widely used for NVMe SSD extention boards, a bottom HAT (or NVMe Base) is a very likely solution. It would be great if it would fit in your case solutions as well.

I just want a good quality expandible case that allows me to stack several HATs, preferably waterproof.

That is a perfect example. My desire is to have a case to allow use on the Pimoroni NVMe bottom hat and the MacArthur HAT with good airflow.

Also interested in the case - I'm going to go with the NVMe base from here https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/nvme-...9587178579, Pi5, Pi5 Official active cooler, McArthur Hat I think.

If I can get a case to fit all that in Smile

Hi y’all! Update on cases : ill be back on land near my computer on the 20th of Feb, I’ll iterate with your suggestions and will do a couple of versions from this date. I will release the designs for free but I’m also considering printing a few cases and selling it at a cool price, will update here.
