Auto pilot connection issues
#1
Hi everyone,  hope someone can help me.  i am a novice at this sort of thing and I'm struggling to connect opencpn to my Simrad AP20.

I am using a Windows11 pc with a digital yachts usb to NMEA0183 converter.  It's all wired in and have followed the instructions adding the connection, plotting and activating a course etc.  Nothing seems to work and the usb connector lights do not flash to show data transfer.

I have two of these connectors, one is already successfully installed and providing AIS data.  The second connector for the AP is the problem.

At this stage, I do not know if it's a setting that's wrong or a dodgy unit somewhere.

Apologies if this is not that clear, like I said I'm a novice at all this.

You would be better asking on the opencpn forum, this forum is specifically for openplotter software running on a raspberry pi
