[SOLVED] Upgrade problem ?

Had to update from 0.10 to latest stabil 0.17.1 and got same symptoms: only splash then

UnboundLocalError: local variable 'magn_list' referenced before assignment

followed the advise earlier but to no joy.
Is the a commandline option to upgrade to latest stabil version?
