Hello everyone.
We wish to equip it with DIY electronics.

The OpenPlotter solution seems to be the most complete and adaptable.

During our research we have also found a RPI 3 program called OnBoard Computer System, but it doesn't satisfy us completely.
However we want to keep a 20x4 LCD screen with 3 screens with which we can read all the information.
We'll adapt it on a RGB LCD screen that will have a red backlight at night.

We are trying to write the code, but it is long and difficult.
Because we don't know where are register the OpenPlotyter data ? (signal K ?).

Would someone have the python database address?
Does anyone already have a code for this kind of display?

It seems that (full color) touch LCD's and Node Red are going to be the future and matrix LCD will become something of the past.

I don't think so JeroenAdam, the current consumption isn't the same. fragility neighter.
And my project is to have both, a lcd touchscreen and a 3-pages matrix lcd.

I'm sure you always use the indestructible LCD Casio Scientific

Several members here have one/several cheap esp8266 modules operational.
It sends data (temperature, voltage, ...) to OpenPlotter without wires (wifi).
What seems to be the latest is a small OLED display in combination with such an esp8266, you'll get a cheap, small, low-power, wireless and color display. Google on keywords esp8266 oled.
If you're going to invest time in coding, I would go for such a solution.
