I am a bit confused and so may others be - is BBN MarineOS an alternative to Openplotter or an extension or something which can coexist but focuses more on the toughscreen support. Please clarify the positioning.

Can the Moitessier hat be used with this BBN MarineOS?
How to make the config?

Thanks for sharing!

I do not have access to Moitessier hat and it was discontinued. However I believe following the Moitessier hat vendor instructions
you should be able to set it up on BBN OS as it is based on same raspberry pi OS they used to support it on.

BBN OS can provide more functionality than OpenPlotter without OpenPlotter installed.

It can also serve in future as a better to platform for OpenPlotter scripts but that would depend on openplotter developers adding support for BBN.

Anyhow it's up to the users to make a judgement. It doesn't' take a lot to try. All you need is one more SD card.

Thanks,
