I would like to add a impact recorder and use OP to send e.g. sms with position data - the idea is that when someone uses the vessel and has a grounding or hits a target in the water to protocol the event for further analysis. (think about a charter boat where one could save the weekly check-diver and on the other hand has (coordinate/time) proof of any grounding.)
Has anyone attempted this already?
Would you use the (negative) acceleration data or an shock-sensor ?
How would you set the threshold value to distinguish between serious groundings vs just heavy waves etc.
Hopefully this is the right forum to exchange ideas / experience on this subject, if not please point me in the right direction.
