Hi, I'm using OpenCPN 5.6.2 and I've simply connected a usb GPS to my Raspberry pi 4b. The data appears to be received in signal K as the date stamp for all the GPS data is changing every 30 seconds. I've checked that the signal K connector is setup in OpenCPN -which it is- but I'm not receiving any GPS data in OpenCPN. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
Is there any other data coming in to OpenCPN? Do you have the SignalK connection configured in OpenCPN correctly?

It should be:
localhost
port 3000
Server discovery OFF
There is no other data coming into CPN and the signal K connection is configured as per the documentation and exactly as you've specified it
...and you said you confirmed that the data browser is showing the data coming in to SignalK?

One thing you can try is the server log in the SignalK server. You can filter by a wide range of sources and processes. It would be interesting to know if the server is seeing it there.
In signal K I'm actually receiving some data variables from the GPS
navigation.courseOverGroundMagnetic null rad 05/06 19:17:53 gps.GP (VTG)
navigation.courseOverGroundTrue null rad 05/06 19:41:45 gps.GP (RMC)
navigation.datetime "2023-05-06T18:41:45.000Z" 05/06 19:41:45 gps.GP (RMC)
navigation.gnss.antennaAltitude 60.6 m 05/06 19:17:53 gps.GP (GGA)
navigation.gnss.differentialAge 0s 05/06 19:17:53 gps.GP (GGA)
navigation.gnss.differentialReference 0 05/06 19:17:53 gps.GP (GGA)

but I noticed that the navigation.position doesn't have any variables, could this be that the GPS is not working correctly?

Not seeing much come through the serve log in the Signal K server

If it's a new usb gps you could  try making sure it has a good view of the sky and leave it running for a few hours to update with data from the satellites at it's new position.
It seems that you do not have a position fix yet, try outdoors.
