Hi,
I am new with Raspberry Pi and bought a MacArthur Hat V1.2 last week.

My configuration : Raspberry Pi 5, 8go, NVme + SSD 1go, BMP280, MacArthur Hat + IMU + Power Supply 12/5V (these 2 last modules have not been tested for now).

I first install Openplotter on a 1g SSD drive thru a Nvme Hat. I started with that configuration and everything worked fine. I succesfully connected a BMP280 sensor on GPIO and got data sent to server K without any problem.
 
After that, I just put the MacArthur hat on top of my Raspberry Pi. Surprisingly, while my raspberry use its official 5V power Supply, I can't see the 5V led Lightning on the Hat... None of the led is on by the way...

Ok, so I tried anyway to connect my BMP280 sensor thru a qwiic cable directly on the MacArturHat, but it doesn't seem to work : No address is visible on I2C interface.

I don't know if I have missed something ? 

Is it normal that the 5V led is off while the Hat is on top of a Raspberry Pi powered by its power supply ?
Is there a way to confirm that MacArthur Hat is active without connecting NMEA or GPS ?

Yes, that is the expected behavior, no 5V LED on when powering from raspberry, only will be on when powering from power module. the I2C issue looks like a connection issue, you could check continuity between the sensor pins and the raspberry I2C GPIOs with power off: https://macarthur-hat-documentation.read...inout.html

Test results :
- sensor 2-5v = OK pin 1
- sensor sda = OK pin 3 and pin 5
- sensor sdl = OK pin 3 and pin 5 ( like sda ?? )
- sensor gnd = none


I don’t know if test is positive with sda and sdl responding on same pins, and ground not responding... 
I test then pin 3 with pin 5 over the hat and it is connected...
Same test on gpio without macarthur hat, and it is not connected.

What do you think about ?

That does not sound good. Unmount the IMU and try again.

Without IMU, pin 3 & 5 are not connected.

Test with hat upon raspberry and BME280 with qwiic cable : I can see the address on the I2C panel.
I tried to connect the IMU alone on gpio, but it does not work.

Have you inspected the soldering? any short?

If you purchased the IMU from us, please write to the store where you purchased the module (US or EU) and ask for a replacement.
