(simple) network question - BartStevens - 2020-01-04

Hi,

In OP2 network settingsĀ I see 2 types of AP settings

on board
AP and Station

What is the difference ...?

Bart

on board: you set the build in wifi device as access point
AP and station: you set the build in wifi device as access point and client at the same time. This will not work for all Raspberry models.

Sailoog this is to cryptic for me ... Will see if I can find a thread somewhere in the forum

I know it is related to this :https://docs.sailoog.com/openplotter-v1-x-x/network

But still ... I need to dive deeper in the difference between Client and AP

Hello,
A client could be described as a user of the network. The one who dials into the network.

The AP (Access-Point) is the device which provides the network.
(The router at home is an AP)

So understandable?
Greetings Luxi
