Receiving Depth data from Garmin Echo100 - SailorMacSailface - 2020-03-09 Hello, when I bought my boat it came with a Garmin Echo100 and an Airmar p319 sensor. I was wondering if I could somehow connect the device to my Openplotter installation to display the current depth. It seems that according to Garmins infos there is no way on doing that. ( No NMEA ) However, maybe someone here knows a trick? Thanks! RE: Receiving Depth data from Garmin Echo100 - Koile - 2020-03-09 I dont't know the garmin. In generell the only solution to geht an analog transducer concected to a digital network is an actisense DST https://www.actisense.com/products/dst-2/ Made a longer research in this and couldn't find any ardourino etc fork oft this thing... But my new airmar p39(nmea2k) was cheaper in eBay - but it was a lucky punch... But this i can directly conect to the openplotter raspi with the MCS. RE: Receiving Depth data from Garmin Echo100 - SailorMacSailface - 2020-03-10 Hello, thanks. Well I will install a more modern transducer the next time the boat gets antifouling. Until then, I feed the sensor to the garmin echomap and from there to openplotter. It is a bit of an overkill, but will work. |
