Problem moving InfluxDB location to usb pendrive - AntoineH - 2020-08-03

Hi

I'm having problems changing the location of my InfluxDB database on a usb pendrive to prevent my OS SD card to overfill.

I'm using the up to date version of openplotter v2 and I'm experiencing difficulties in moving the InfluxDB database location. The Influxdgb/grafana has been install through the openplotter-dashboards 2.2.0-stable window.

The initial setup works fine.

I've changed the lines for the data location (meta, data, wal) in the /etc/influxdb/influxdb.conf file to a location on an external usb drive. I've changed the user and group to match influxdb for the folders on the usb drive. Then I restarted the server in the dashboard and rebooted the rpi.

The connection doesn't seem to go through and the server statuts shows inactive/dead or running for a small time. However impossible to get the connection working in chronograf.

I've managed to get the InfluxDB server running through a terminal window with the influxd command and could get a proper connection through chronograf. But no succes through the Dashboard GUI.

Setting the locations back to default values in the influxdb.conf file makes the server work again through the dashboard GUI.

Any chances of getting it to work through the dashboard GUI

Thanks
