[CLOSED] Moitessier HAT GNNS signal instability? - b135802 - 2020-08-29 Hello all, I've got a Moitessier HAT 1 on a RPi 4, with Openplotter 2 installed. Moitessier HAT firmware 2.1.1, kernel 5.4.51. Openplotter is getting input with Signal K-protocol. With the NMEA-plugin in SignalK activated there seems to be no signal at all. My problem is that the GNNS/GPS signal seems to vary randomly, the location is jumping all over the world chart, although the HAT-led for GNNS-signal is green. Anyone seen this before? Any solutions to suggest? Code: cat moitessier.tty gives: Quote:$GPRMC,004207.878,V,,,,,0.00,0.00,060180,,,N,V*3E and Code: cat moitessier.spi Quote:$GPRMC,004236.878,V,,,,,0.00,0.00,060180,,,N,V*3C RE: Moitessier HAT GNNS signal instability? - luchin0 - 2020-08-30 Same problem, same behavour with identical installation. I didn't found any solution yet. Before upgrating kernel, firmware and with the old input to opecpn everythings work correctly. Waiting for some help. Thanks to everyone RE: Moitessier HAT GNNS signal instability? - Sailoog - 2020-09-09 From your NMEA data I can see that you have not a fixed position from satellites, are you indoor? RE: Moitessier HAT GNNS signal instability? - Sailoog - 2020-09-27 marking as closed reopen if necessary RE: Moitessier HAT GNNS signal instability? - Didier B - 2020-09-27 I suffer 100% the same problem, without Moitessier HAT... The problem appeared when introducing signal K in Opencpn 5.2.0.9 . I uninstalled and re-installed Signal k twice . Immediately after re-installation, and rebuilding the connection in Serial, everything seems OK, GPS data are consistent and a FIX will occur after a few seconds. Quitting and rebooting appear to be just nice. But... later on, say after 10~15 min, Boom, the position jumps everywhere on the planet, impossible to get a fix. I checked it was not due to the GPS USB connection (port, Hub, GPS module (2 different Ublox8 USB GNSS modules) ... I am completely disgusted of the insanity of this signal K connection ! I hope we can roll back very quickly to a more stable approach ! So sad it is just not good enough to install aboard ...
