hello everyone,
I'm having a problem on a fresh install of OP starter on a RP3B+.
The touchscreen interface is connected via USB, but doesn't work, until I plug a mouse (actually plugging its USB wireless receiver).
Then I can unplug the mouse and the touchscreen works perfect..
Sorry if my problem is hardware related, but it seems it's not.

It may be that your particular touch screen isn't being recognized as such when it is plugged in. Plug in your keyboard only, open a terminal (from the keyboard Ctrl-Alt-t) and type "xinput". What do you get?
