SDR Play devices - DroZDi - 2022-11-08
Hi
Do you consider support of SDR play RSP1/RSP1A and others n openplotter?
As per now it seems only RTL2832U is supported directly from VHF module.
GQRX supports SDRPlay devices.

if I am not wrong that AIS-catcher library could replace the current one in openplotter-sdr-vhf (only for RTL2832U) to also support SDRPlay devices. Do you know any affordable SDRPlay device?

Seb, you have 3 possibilites:
1. GQRX with SDRPLAY or MIRI driver
2. SDR++ (for me it consumes a lot of CPU and I m going to contact the support to eliminate it)
3. CubeSDR as a part of SDRplay_RPi_Scripts_v0.3.zip
You can make tests on your own

The SDRPlay devices are not inexpensive. However, they are very good.
If you were to do something with them I would be very interested.

For AIS detection AIS-catcher should fit. Unfortunately Im so far from the sea so I can make some tests generating some signals...
