Modular case for Raspberry Pi 5 + miscellaneous HATs - Nas - 2025-03-13 Hello. As an evolution from my previous design of a Raspberry Pi 5 + MacArthur HAT combination case I have designed a modular case system for the Raspberry Pi 5 computer and miscellaneous stackable HATs (thank you Sailoog for your suggestion). https://www.printables.com/model/1228296 It comprises a base, a lid and several “spacers”, each one of them with the suitable holes and adaptations for connectors and other features. The underlying idea is to easily modify the configuration of your “stack” without printing a new case. Just remove or add the appropriate spacer. I am very fond of the tools-free release mechanism that allows to remove the whole case from the fixed holding base using only two fingers (I like very much being able to bring it with me without unscrewing). For the time being I have designed spacers por the Raspberry Pi 5, the Pimoroni NVMe base and the MacArthur HAT. I hope to include other spacers in the future. RE: Modular case for Raspberry Pi 5 + miscellaneous HATs - Sailoog - 2025-03-21 wow I love it again ![]() RE: Modular case for Raspberry Pi 5 + miscellaneous HATs - mfurbish - 2025-03-27 Will this case work for RP4 & MacArthur hat? But it would be easy to design a new spacer for the RP4 compatible with the other modules. RE: Modular case for Raspberry Pi 5 + miscellaneous HATs - aitonos - 2025-03-29 Very intelligent case! You say easy to design? How does one go about doing that? Would you do the design? Once designed, are these 3D printed? I don't want to impose on anyone. Do you think a case already exists such that I could just buy one? Thanks. RE: Modular case for Raspberry Pi 5 + miscellaneous HATs - Nas - 2025-03-30 I mean, once the basic design is done it's no big deal to adapt the RP Pi5 version to Pi4. I have found online the Pi4 drawings and I can try to create a new layer for the Pi 4 even without having physical access to an unit. Once I publish it you would have to print it through any printing service (...or a friend with a 3d printer). RE: Modular case for Raspberry Pi 5 + miscellaneous HATs - mfurbish - 2025-03-30 OK. Is adapting the design to Pi4 something you are interested/willing to do? If so, do you charge for that? Then, to get it printed, any rough idea of cost? Thanks for helping me think this through.
