RE: Introducing OpenPlotter hats!!! - Luckbert - 2018-06-24 Hello, everybody, The mistake was my pi. The I2C interface and SPI interfaces are defective. Why this happened is not quite clear to me. Before, the pi worked normally with other modules. Anyway, the new PI is ordered and then tested further. Greetings Jürgen RE: Introducing OpenPlotter hats!!! - andy kopac - 2018-06-27 I received the Moitesseir hat today. No question. A total game changer. It's a one-stop shop for almost everything you want in a cruising rpi hat. Incredible. The only thing I'm still waiting for is a WL2K client for rpi with pactor compatibility, hf propagation predicting, and catalog support for saildocs for weather fax and grib access. RE: Introducing OpenPlotter hats!!! - Smartell - 2018-06-30 I looked through the documentation on the hat and i got confused by the ordering options described in the PDF. On page 2 they show a picture of a "Basic" version and that is even lacking solder pads for headers etc. Does anybody know what we are getting when ordering the hat, what kind of options is included? /M RE: Introducing OpenPlotter hats!!! - andy kopac - 2018-07-01 (2018-06-30, 05:34 PM)Smartell Wrote: I looked through the documentation on the hat and i got confused by the ordering options described in the PDF. You will not want want to stack any hats on top as this will interfer with the GPS antenna. although they did rout a couple pins thru, your best bet is one of the following https://shop.4tronix.co.uk/products/gpio-interceptor-gpio-breakout-for-40-pin-raspberry-pi https://www.adafruit.com/product/3577 https://www.adafruit.com/product/3742 This is an amazing board. I haven't been this excited since I got my Pactor modem years ago. It is a HUGE game changer. Mine does everything it is supposed to. Their support is great too. What i asked was: Did you get a board that looked like the picture on the left of the "Basic board" without any empty solder patches or pins above the Moitessier logo ? If you don't look at the picture, you can't answer my question. RE: Introducing OpenPlotter hats!!! - Rooco - 2018-07-01 Hello Smartell, the pictures are for reference only and are 3D renderings, so no solder pads are shown at all. See figure 3 in the current technical specification: Download PDF at https://www.rooco.eu/2018/06/13/technical-specification-moitessier-hat/ The picture shows what you get. There are of course solder pads for the IO headers available. If you want to use them you can solder a header on your own. I guess that the picture to the right on page 2 is also a 3D rendering but with headers etc...a bit confusing. Anyway, with this info in my pocket i can go ahead and order :-) BR/M RE: Introducing OpenPlotter hats!!! - Rooco - 2018-07-01 (2018-07-01, 05:07 PM)Smartell Wrote:(2018-07-01, 02:54 PM)Rooco Wrote: Hello Smartell, You are right. All figures except figure 3 are 3D renderings. The aim of figure 2 is to illustrate how to identify the different available options. Figure 3 by the way is PE77001E02-UART (= basic model + UART option). I will update the technical specification with the pinout of the HAT headers in the next few days.
