Max voltage
#1
Question
Hi,

Power management - MacArthur HAT v1.2 Documentation (macarthur-hat-documentation.readthedocs.io) clearly says that the input and SW voltage should be 12V. However we know that the voltage provided by alternators is higher than 12V and that the Power module Pololu - 5V, 3.2A Step-Down Voltage Regulator D36V28F5 accepts up to 50V.

What is the actual maximum voltage that may be safely used for power and SW input?

Thanks!

While the power module could handle higher voltages, the protection circuit on the MacArthur HAT is designed for a 12V system. The maximum voltage is around 15.6V, defined by the TVS diode D1.
