Also failing at the first step - other way
#1
Hi everybody,

I just installed openplotter headless from the latest image on my raspi 4. Connected to the SSID - worked fine.
Then I tried to access it via openplotter.local and 10.42.0.1 in chromium and firefox, both on linux and android tablet, both failed with the error code, that the connection was refused.
I got to changing the password via SSH and to see the signal K server running via openplotter.local:3000 so something must be working and running. Though it's not possible to create an account. And it's not possible to see the starting page via a browser.
Then I tried to get to the configuration via ssh openplotter-settings: "unable to access the x display, is $display set properly?"

Anyone has an idea what I did wrong or how to get to the configuration?

Thanks in advance
Bernhard

There is only the signal k server web page running in openplotter at

http://openplotter.local:3000

nothing running in

http://openplotter.local
http://10.42.0.1

You can not run graphics apps from a remote terminal, if you want tu run openplotter-settings you have to connect by remote desktop (VNC) instaling realvnc viewer in your client system:

https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/download/viewer/

Thanks for that, i have come a step further.
Though now realvnc connets to 10.42.0.1 and wants a username and password (i assume the standard password from the image?) but does not accept the pi/raspberry from the image. So I'm still somewhat stuck after the first step...

If you did not change the credentials during SD creation or after, it should work: https://openplotter.readthedocs.io/4.x.x...l#headless

From your first message: "I got to changing the password via SSH"
