Connecting to Raymarine Linear Actuator/Drive Unit
#1
Hi,

I have a Raymarine Smartpilot X10 which has been a pain for years so I'm hoping to use my existing RPi with Openplotter to also run PyPilot. The linear actuator and control unit (remote) work well though, so I'd love to keep them both.

Documentation suggests the linear drive uses 6-8A continuous and 15A peak when stalling. What kind of motor controller can I use and where do I source it?

Would I be able to connect the current ST6002+ control unit to PyPilot so I don't need to fit a new controller, or is that not possible / more work than it's worth?

Hello,

For controller, I would choose the "mid-power" version: https://shop.openmarine.net/home/27-pypi...oller.html

ST units are made for Seatalk connections, will not work
