Cockpit music player on Openplotter
#1
Hello,

I've added music player (Mopidy with Spotify and MusicBox Web UI) which works very nice with a cockpit touchscreen.
It was very easy to install. I've documented the instructions here

https://bareboat-necessities.github.io/m...sic_player

I thought someone would be looking for something like that.

Thanks,

You should later register mopidy as a service to start automatically and create a menu link to open Mopidy Web UI directly from desktop menu.

I've been using clementine for a while as a player/podcasts etc , fitting a hifiberry board on the pi was a great success, draws little power and acts as a 5v supply to the pi as well [Image: 2wnQ7qi.jpg]
Then some node-red streams various web radio and plays it through MPD.
Total game changer onboard as the Pi is on all the time anyway.

Can't remember! And didn't make any notes either, but remember having to spend some time on Google to get it going. Away from the boat with some work at the moment but I have a pi4 with me so at some point I'll give it another go and make some notes this time, sorry can't help any more.

I used a more basic approach : bluetooth + VLC and a good quality Bluetooth speaker.
Investment in the speaker quality was made easier by the fact I can use it every where : home, car, boat, camper etc.
I first had to  browse a little (I don't Google !), to gain some education about bluetoothctl and now it's OK !
In the following article only the bluetooth connection paragraph is necessary.
