Ok, I discovered that Freeboard works on my iPad. I have been using a MacBook Safari to connect to Freeboard which was originally but no longer display AIS. I just tried the Brave browser and AIS works, so there is an issue with Freeboard on my Safari browser.
On the Brave browser Freeboard imbedded in KIP does not show AIS whereas the direct link does. Any ideas on how where to find the Freeboard browser configurations?
