Suggestions for waterproof motors for steering wheel
#1
Good day,

Let me first say I'm really interested in this project and would like to help in any way I can. I'm a software developer and live on my sailing boat in the Netherlands. I'm getting ready to go sail around the world (on a small budget) and that's how I found out about this project.

I would like to order the Tinypilot computer and controller and test it out on my boat, but I'm not really sure what kind of motor I need to get with this. I have a steering wheel with an old AutoHelm wheel still attached where I can attach a belt to a motor. The motor needs to be waterproof and I would like to have as much power as possible with the current motor controller. My boat is a 37 foot Formosa.

Any suggestions what kind of motor to get (type, specification)?
Maybe even some links to Amazon would be greatly appreciated?

I really like to test this setup out and start tweaking the software and hardware and hopefully help to improve the system.
Hope someone got some suggestions to get me started with a motor.

Kind reagards,
Justin.

P.S.
