Installing firefox on openplotter is as simple as opening a terminal and entering the command:

sudo apt install firefox-esr

However there is a reason why chromium comes pre-installed and that is the fact that it contains numerous tweaks that greatly improve the user experience on Rpi and over openplotter-Raspi-OS.

You can use firefox but given the lack of tweaks for this, the internet experience will be considerably worse.
