I'm always interested in new developments. A new beta version of Ubuntu is appeared, called Hirsute Hippo. Also ARM 64 bits. The next version after the Groovy Gorilla.
Ubuntu has already available a version for the RPI. Tried this version on my Pi4 and can confirm it works. It is working here with SignalK and also with the Oesenc plugin. Although libusb file must be added to get Oesenc working.
Also tried to install the OpenPlotter add-ons. However, this does not work because the config-parser is no longer part of the latest Python version and cannot be installed.
Otherwise, it seems to work. A reaction of a Python specialist here was that the config-parser is no longer needed in the latest Python version. But is part of the OpenPlotter setup. He has made a comment on the Github page.
The Ubuntu Hirsute Hippo is working fast.
