You're running OpenGL software rendered instead of on the GPU, check your graphics drivers.
That made me thinking a bit.
Im connected to my Pi with VNC - it is not a connection through HDMI but only network.
Next I made my PI connected with HDMI to the monitor and... SDR++ CPU consumption went down to 30-40%
