Hi and thanks for all the work! 
I literally can't wait for the MacArthur hat to be out. Meanwhile do you think I can wire my pi4 gpio to the mpc used for nmea 2000 as presented on the project source page (https://github.com/OpenMarine/MacArthur-Hat)?
I'm dealing with a lot of electronics here and have no competency in it, but trying to figure it out...
