Normally ais is set to 38400 baud, which is done in the openplotter serial app.
Where is the si-tex on the boat? It should have it's own gps inbuilt so maybe it hasn't got a fix yet?
Could be possibly no ais targets in range maybe before?
In opencpn press keyboard 'e' which should show everything coming in, have a look in there, might be some RMC or something.
