What sd card size & power supply is the most common?
#1
Just installing on a Pi4 from scratch & wondering what people use most? And should the openplotter doc include some info?
I use a 32Gb card usually like a kingston or similar.
And power from a hifiberry amp, though have used these before with a Pi 3 >

Not sure if they would be powerful enough for a 4.

Maybe links to actual 12v > 5v power supplies and SD card size would be useful in the docs?

I used this Buck converter with my Pi4 and it works fine, most of my peripherals are connected to a powered USB hub. It is limited to 3A: https://amzn.to/46JFtH2

I did find it was not enough for Pi5, so I bought this one. It has a 5A limit and works great with Pi5: https://amzn.to/3X4jSpi

I've had too many SD cards fail - I use SSDs now.

As for power supplies, I've found that the buck converters rated at 3A really don't provide it, and certainly the voltage goes down to below 4.8V when under a lot of load. They also generate a great deal of RF noise, which effects my VHF and my SSB. What I have on my boat now is a separate 30A 12V - 5V buck converter with it's own fuse block. That probably sounds a bit extreme, but I like the the buck converters with the cast metal cases, as I can ground the case to give a little more RFI protection.
